Bicycle Scatting… I'm riding my bicycle down the road… Lots of traffic…But man I'm bold… My biking buddies are fast… So I'm riding hard not to be last… We hammer up the hills and Fly down the other side… Cranks are spinning… Man! What a ride… Someone's missing! Oh, Ray's behind a bush… We all slow down… Don't have to push… Finally we hit the diner for lunch… Good food and fellowship with A wild, geezer bunch… Poem by Robin Jensen, inspired by riding with friends on improvisational bicycle tours. Scatting: Jazz vocal improvisation using the voice for syllables and words to sound like a musical instrument. Also sometimes called "vocalese."

Manatee in the sky… Bicycling around in Zip Code 33872 is a wild and fantastic adventurure… The magic land of Xanth anyone? Watch out…! Heads up…! It's another Manatee in the sky… What the? They can be anywhere… Like the little Anoles… Zipping all over the place. And the Wood Storks prance around… Like arrogant, asinine clowns… Too strong? Alright, Save that for the Turkey Vultures. But, the Sandhill Cranes are cool… And Armadillos? Well… cute… Watch out! Heads up! Poem by Robin Jensen, inspired by the many fascinating creatures discovered on bicycle tours in the magic land of Xanth, particularly in the 33872 Zip Code area.

An Elk in the Sky… Bicycling in the Northwest USA Is a wild and fantastic adventure… Soaring snow capped mountains… Beautiful forests and abounding wildlife. Watch out…! Heads up…! It's another Elk in the sky… What the? They can be anywhere and everywhere… Like the herds of deer, Prancing and dancing all over the place… And the chipmunks begging for goodies. Bicyclists "say thankya" to the early railroads For carving through and around the majestic mountains. Although some of the railways have faded away… Many live on in glory as bicycle trails… Rails to Trails! But, Watch out! Heads up! The Elk still have the right of way out West… Isn't God's Creation fantastic? Poem by Robin Jensen, inspired by bicycling the Route of The Hiawatha and the Trail of The Coeur D' Alenes. Rails to Trails in Northern Idaho.

Great Grandmother's Hill… Bicycle touring with friends Is always a fun adventure. We talk as we ride Discussing ideas and discoveries… We joke a lot with each other… And we laugh and smile… Enjoying the fellowship Feeling Blessed… Until we encounter a steep hill… Then it's quiet… A little more serious… As we apply our full energy to the ascent. One of those hills I call "Great Grandmother's Hill." My great grandmother is buried behind a church With a beautiful, tall, white steeple Right at the top of the hill. I never knew her. My mother said she was very nice. I always say "Hi, Great Grandmother!" When I finally reach the top of the hill… And "Ah!" As I begin the long downhill… Poem by Robin Jensen, inspired by bicycling up and down "Great Grandmother's Hill" near New Salem, Michigan.

A Chicken in the Sky… Chickens are funny… They are the stand-up comedians of the barnyard. Strutting around… Telling jokes… Laying eggs. And the roosters always crow When I ride by a farm on a bicycle tour. I expect it… and the guys never fail To give out a good, strong, raucous crow. The Apostle Peter wouldn't dig it, But, I think it's cool! There are over one hundred breeds of chickens. An amazing variety of shapes, sizes, patterns, Textures, feathers and colors… And they all came from one original… The Red Jungle Fowl. The chicken "Adam." Fantastic… Poem by Robin Jensen, inspired by all those stand-up comedians of the barnyards. The reference to the Apostle Peter relates to Matthew 26: 34 and 73 - 75.
